I've begun a large still life, feeling enthusiasm from my workshop (see May 15th post). Right now we have a snowball bush in blossom and the irises have bloomed as well. They look lush and heavy and I was dying to paint them. It took a bit to set-up, but I'm having fun!

I love this. It looks like it will be a rich and brightly coloured juicy still life -- the kind I love. There's so much energy there, and it looks like it might happen this way too. Super.
Take care,
Barbara
Can't wait to see where this goes...it is fun to see how it is starting and looks like it will be beautiful!
Really like the set up and it looks to be a very exciting painting!
This looks interesting. Very detailed. I'm anxious to see where you go with it.
Really love what you're doing here Kim! So fun to see how other Artists start their work and in progress. Excellent start.
Dear Kim, thank you for visiting! You have started a large painting while I have an enormous canvas glaring at me from the corner of the studio! I even know what is going to be on it, can see it clearly!!! (bad girl speaking)Your still life is going to be sensational, all the best!
On your "about me" page I noticed that your link was wrong. It must be http:// and not www. Thought I'd mention it so you can lead more people to your blog.
Irises are so interesting in their colour and shape. They never let you down in a still life. Yours look absolutely beautiful with the light flowers.
This is looking great, Kim. Very dynamic. I hope you finish it soon, so we can see it!
You've got a great start on this, Kim. I can't wait to see the finished piece!!
Cannot wait to see the finished painting Kim - looks great.
It's so gorgeous already Kim. I love to see your drawing before you paint, your strokes are masterly. I can't wait to see it finished!!
