When I lined up these bottles to paint it reminded me of a police line-up, hence the title. It made me laugh! I enjoy painting wine bottles - all those greens! I was moving fairly quickly, trying to keep things loose and snappy. 
My remnants of lunch. I was casting about for a subject and my husband suggested I paint a slice of our leftover pizza. It was particularly colourful and a very tasty combination: tomatoes, hot peppers, onions, green peppers and bacon. Crispy, hot and delicious.
Or more appropriately, "Stinky Trainers". This was a challenge from Ralph, who said, sure, I could paint pretty shoes, but he'd like to see what I'd do with his smelly trainers. So here you are Ralph! : ) The blue packet on the top shoe is a neat little velcro pocket that he stores his key in when running. Thanks Ralph - it was fun!
Today the sunflowers caught my eye. A quintessential sign of summer. A few weeks back we drove by a field of sunflowers and they kind of reminded me of meerkats ...lol - all heads turned the same way, standing at attention. It was such a totally cheery site!!
One of the beautiful parts of this instrument. This fiddle belongs to one of my children, who has just completed his first year of lessons and will be saying goodbye to his teacher (who is moving) tomorrow. She has been a wonderful teacher: she thought outside the box, fed his curiosity, kept him engaged and of course, taught him the skills. 
My sister let me raid her closet for another pair : ) These sandals are a bonus: splash and comfort! The tops are covered in tightly sewn beads and sequins. Challenging to paint - to still keep it loose while trying to portray the flash.
Shoes again! I was missing them ; ) This sparkling little number belongs to my sister - isn't it the best? They are sequined and beaded and remind me of an exotic slipper. Very, very pretty. You could put these on with a paper bag and feel glamourous : )
So I wanted to get back to a close-up of the peach. I thought that Mondays painting turned out to be the best of the previous three and wanted to explore it further. I like the more graphic quality of this one. And I like the way the pit juts out of the flesh.

Our luscious Niagara peaches are full-on right now and they are delicious! The peach stone on this variety are a brilliant red. Really pretty cool! Nature is awesome don't you think?
This is a summer replay : ) It's been a weekend of summer parties, lingering dinners and fine visits with family and friends. 
A plein air piece. I paint so many small dailies that sometimes I feel cramped up and then I know it's time to get outside and paint something a little bigger. My goal once autumn hits is to get some large pieces going again. Anyway, this was painted on Sydenham Road in Dundas. A warm, summer evening. The fields were just glowing!
Next HotWheel in line. The Power Sander! Okay - I think tomorrow I'll move on. I could be doing HotWheels forever...
I asked one of my children to bring me some HotWheels to paint. There are a lot of cool cars! I picked this one, "Fast Fuse" for my first. Ever since I painted some silver shoes, I've been keen on painting silver. The plastic dome part was really tough to get but it came together in the end. HotWheels are great. You can pretty much own any car you like for a couple of bucks! ; ) And no insurance premiums.
You know when you have those days where you can't paint? I've had about three. 
Last night was the show opening at Ayrspace. It was a beautiful night: the humidity finally broke and Jill hosted a wonderful event! Very nicely done : ) I am posting this piece today because of the pieces I had hanging, this was Bruce's favourite. That was the other great thing about last night - I got to meet a bunch of wonderful artists, (names and links mentioned on Monday's post) but I got a chance to talk to two of them in depth: Bruce Sherman and Hank Bos. They were very generous with tips & information and all-together lovely people. 
As in a stapler and glue stick are used to make things stick. It's late ; ) 
Love this pair of shoes. Wanted to paint them one more time before I give them back. And if we wore the same size they may have mysteriously gone missing....I kid!
A muggy holiday Monday but it's been a really good day. First I had tea with a friend that was long overdue. Thanks E ; ) Next it was off to AyrSpace Gallery (with my sister - long overdue as well and a great time catching up ; ) to drop off my pieces for the upcoming show: Summertime, the living is easy. I will be participating in this show with fellow artists Bruce Sherman, Donelda Janzen, Eve Yantha, Hank Bos, Jeanette Obbink and Kathleen Thorsen.
