Sea Glass + Acceptance to the TOAE

"The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea."
Isak Dinesin
This is my newest painting "Sea Glass."
It measures 3' x 5'.  Acrylic on cradled wood support. $2100.
I wish you could see in in person - there is so much to get lost in!
In other news, I was notified yesterday that I have been accepted to the Toronto Outdoor Art Expo (TOAE)! Last year was such a fantastic experience. The TOAE is the largest and longest running juried outdoor art exhibition in Canada. This year it is being held September 18-20th at Nathan Phillips Square. More on that in the months to come ; )

It's my 6th year blogiversary!

Today is my 6th year blogiversary : ) Usually I do a giveaway but this year it's something new. As you no doubt recall last summer the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS went viral. Little did I know a couple of months later a good friend of ours would receive the diagnosis. So...there was my initial disbelief, and then sadness and while I still float between the two, of course I also want to help. I was at an ALS walk on the weekend and one of the speakers said something to the effect of not feeling like all you have to offer is a small amount. Because it's a small amount here, and there, and there and there, and all of that adds up to help the organization help its clients. Therefore, in support of John and his family I am holding an auction for one of the three paintings below. Since tastes differ, the winning bidder gets to choose which painting they'd like. Because I need to keep a running total in one place, the bidding will only be available through my Facebook page, Kim Rempel Art. All you have to do is put a comment in the post stating the amount you wish to donate. 50% of the final bid will go to the ALS Society of Canada (Ontario chapter) and 50% will go to John. Bidding is open till Wednesday at 9pm EST. Winner will be announced shorty after.
Each painting is ready to hang. Painting details below. *In my haste to photograph these before the rain set in I inadvertently photographed "Shift" upside down.  It is shown correctly below.
Incoming / 16"x20" / acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, edges painted black / list price: $425
Peonies and Phlox / 16"x20" / acrylic on masonite / framed / list price: $450
Shift / mixed media on cradled wood panel / list price: $465
