Re-working!

New painting

Something about this painting (above) never sat right with me. It left me feeling a little cold or formal. Today I warmed it up and I like it. Not sure about the darker horizontal element running through. Perhaps I should lighten it while still keeping it the darker than the wall? Thoughts? I could use some feedback on this one : ) This is done in acrylic and I believe is 24" square.

Work in progress

I've begun a large still life, feeling enthusiasm from my workshop (see May 15th post). Right now we have a snowball bush in blossom and the irises have bloomed as well. They look lush and heavy and I was dying to paint them. It took a bit to set-up, but I'm having fun!

Irises and peonies in vase

With the garden being crammed with flowers, I cut some peonies and irises and stuffed them in a glass vase. The next painting will not contain flowers! lol 5" x 7" / acrylic on canvas / $45 / SOLD
