Sketchbook

~blind contour portraits~
~crossed legs~
~downtown~
Today and tomorrow I'm posting something a little different. I took part in the Sketchbook Project and my theme was "Make mine a double". So what I did was themed spreads - i.e. the subjects for the left and right sides were the same. Unfortunately I have an embarrassing confession: there were only 5 sketches that were good enough to share!  I really let time get away on me and had to scramble at the end, madly drawing to fill pages. NOT. GOOD. I wanted to complete it and send it in because I definitely want to take part next year. And I will create a sensitive, thoughtful book that I can proudly show : ) I did realize how much I'd missed sketching!

you are just too persnickity. I like drawings that look groping and weird. These are good ---(& the groping ones are probably better). lol. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks Celeste. Yes - I like groping and weird too! It's just that these are the only 5 that have that! You gotta trust me on this one ; )

It's lovely to see your sketches! It really is different and I'm glad you shared them. I need to sketch far more often than I do! :0D

I really like your interpretation of the theme. Great focus on line.

I'm participating in the sketchbook project as well & really glad that the deadline was extended to postmark on the 18th because mine is definitely not there yet!

Absolutely love your loose, liberated line (someday, I will grow up and use a pen). And your brush strokes are bold and delivered with confidence. Wonderful body of work.
