Wisdom - SOLD

Another in my flower series. This is a dwarf iris. I picked up a small bouquet of them at the grocery store. For a few bucks they sure bring an infusion of spring to our home. These three would look good as a series...just saying! : ) When I looked up the meaning of irises, a number were given depending on colour. This ones denotes wisdom and compliments. I love irises. They are the first flower I clearly remember being enchanted by when I was a kid.

Gorgeous flower series, Kim!! I love irises too. I have Georgia O'Keefe's Irises hanging in my house (a print of course:) Beautiful moody colors. I also love the vibrant pink of your carnation. It is funny sometimes how you end up using a dif color to achieve your end result. I painted red ornaments this year and I'm not sure there was much red at all mostly oranges and dark purples.

"wisdom and compliments" well Kim, I will be wise and give you a lovely compliment: this painting will look fantastic on anyone's wall.

Love your addition of meanings.
And the purples are so rich!

I love this Kim. I love all your flowers! Okay I love everything you paint, what can I say I'm hooked with your vision. My mom would love these, she loves irises although she always called them 'flags'. They always remind me of her. :)

I strongly believe that fresh flowers- be it the actual thing or a painting of them- are a must for a happy home. Very pretty painting. I like the solid, blue shadow.

Hi there Kim!... There is indeed great "wisdom"... in painting what you love and are passionate about!

Each of your flowers in your series shows your affinity not only to have fresh flowers about... but also, your affinity as well... to paint them vibrantly and with an accuracy that keeps them "fresh"... and "painterly" in your finished work.

Nice work!

Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
