Yesterday was the
34th World Wide SketchCrawl founded by
Enrico Casarosa. My friend (and fellow artist) Brenda and I met in Jordan Village to take part in the occassion (we still have to upload to the site). I know some artists in the blogosphere have regular sketching get-togethers and I've always thought that sounded so cool! Well...it was! I had a lot of fun sketching with Brenda. We met at
Zooma Zooma Cafe and spent a few hours drawing. The staff were good to us and didn't give us the hairy eyeball for staying in their café for 3.5 hours ; ) We tipped them well : ) So here's my afternoon's work:
My lunch. A lobster/shrimp salad on a croissant with salad.
A fellow diner perusing the menu. Brenda brought her watercolours so I had fun adding some colour. My favourite part of this one was the flower on the table.
View of
Cave Spring Cellars across the street.
An old gas pump now part of the decor.
Brenda and I at the end of the day. Thanks for driving out to sketch with me Brenda! It made it all the more enjoyable : )

Lovely sketches. It does look cold out there!
Great post, and the drawings are wonderful! Thanks for sharing this with us.
They are indeed lovely sketches! A fun story as well.
Good stuff Kim! My favourite is the first one. I'm a sucker for salt and pepper shakers, for some reason. And the sandwich made me hungry.
I had a wonderful time! Lovely to spend the day with you!
Cheers,
Brenda
Love these! you are so talented!
Sketches are my FAVORITE thing to look at. I really find it fascinating and I thoroughly enjoyed looking at yours :0)
If my sketches would turn out like that I might actually keep a sketch book. That was a fabulous idea to get together and just sketch, may have to try that--maybe in the car pick up line at my son's school:) Really love your sketches and the graphic quality!!

Wow! That's some afternoon's work.
