Still early days...

More work on the tree. It is in full leaf as you can tell by yesterdays post but I think I'll be painting it naked : ) I'm just so attracted to to branch structure.

I like it naked! But then. . . I like most things nak- never mind. heh heh. :)

In all seriousness, I love the way you paint the branches. It reminds me of those golden age illustrators work that was just so full of life it felt like it was going to start walking you know?

I,m watching.....so, initially you wash your board and then charcoal? pencil? sketch, block in the highlights, then"see" the colours (hard for me)and then it looks as if you lay down one stroke at a time...and then gradually the strokes move together???.....I so like to watch your progess.....you PRO you......very cool and talented Kim. This is really cool, Kim. The close crop has a wonderful abstract composition to it. And beautifully painted.

It's great to see how you apply each layer, up close like this. I love it! And I agree, naked is good - though a part of me is dying to see how you would go about adding the leaves! So maybe you could do another (like you have time, lol) :0)
