So an added bonus to participating in the 3 in 5 challenge was that it gave me extra time to get work done on this painting before showing the next progress shot : ) Lots of interesting decision making on this one! More to come...

The Allsorts Family
To Inspire
Leap!
Day 4 of the 3 Paintings/5 Days Challenge. #3in5ArtChallenge. Today I'm showing a few of my daily paintings. These are small works in oil that I do in studio. I credit daily painting with my growth as an artist. Because of it I began blogging, which opened up a world of art to me as well as a multitude of friendships. It also proved true all the things you read regarding logging in the time to hone your skills. There is no quick ticket. Miles of canvas and all that : ) Today I nominate Tom Homewood. Check him out!

3 paintings/5 days Artists Challenge - Reaching back into the archives
Hey folks! So on my Facebook page, Kim Rempel Art, I received a nomination to participate in an art challenge. I am to post three paintings a day for five days and pass the nomination on to a fellow artist each of those days. Linda Hunt, who is an artist I got to know through blogging, asked me to participate. Please check out her work, she's a very good painter. Hunt paints with confident, loose brush strokes and has a very lovely, interesting and sophisticated palette. Thanks Linda. I admire your work greatly : )
So here are my three paintings for the day. I have reached way back into the archives and chosen three figurative works.

New beginnings
Hello all! A new year, the start of a new painting. I'm beginning this year with an experimental piece. It is proving quite time consuming (hence the small patch) but here is what I've got so far.
