Magic in a vase - SOLD

I love painting flowers. I think of them like a bunch of miracles. Just think of what a seed looks like - a little speck of brown - or think of a bulb buried in the icy, frozen soil. And every spring, tender green shoots emerge and buds pop up and flourish into these intricate, luscious, delicate blooms (that showcase impressive patterns and intricate designs). Yes, I know I'm stating the obvious but sometimes I just think it's all magic : )

Garden mums on datebook

A few small mums I picked from the garden this morning on the way to the studio. I set them on my datebook because I liked the colour combination. I heard IKEA has some inexpensive little vases/dishes that would be good for set-ups. I'll have to make a trip. This glass vase has been the star of the show for a while now.

Sunshine on a grey day

After leaving these flowers for a couple of days, I went to my studio this morning and they were still in great shape. Nature of that type of flower I guess : ) They were a nice burst of sunny yellow on a cloudy day.
