Winter cheer

This is a kalanchoe in my studio. My husband bought it for me a year ago when it was in bloom and then it sat rather neglected the rest of the year. It went through long periods where it didn't get watered : ( And then suddenly last week it had buds...and blooms! Had to capture this, it doesn't happen often!

Wow! Brilliant! The colours together are perfect!
It's lovely when buds begin to appear isn't it? It makes me feel that Sping is just around the corner :0)

Hi there Kim!... A lovely crisp floral... not at all fussy and with just the right massing of darks and lights... trumped by that luscious flourish of carefully placed reds! The blue backdrop simply amplifies your joy!Nice piece!

I have a pinkish one here as well... just finished blooming. What "Winter Cheer" I felt as well!

It had been on my Mom's gravestite until near freezeup... and i brought it home only because it bravely faced the frost and survived.

"Never give up the ship!".... I say! HAHA!!

Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
