So I met these lovely people yesterday. I've driven by their home for years and always admired their rows of daffodils, then irises, then roses. I finally stopped in, introduced myself and asked if they minded if I painted in their garden. They were delightful and said no problem! They told me this particular iris is named "Dark Triumph". I don't usually paint with so much green. It felt weird...lol. Does that sound weird? Usually I paint in a sky or something but today I decided to indicate the flowers/lawn in the background. I ♥ irises. They are my earliest flower memory as a kid. Maybe it's becasue I had a major purple-thing going on ; )

p.s. And speaking of ♥, I just want to send a huge heartfelt thank you to all those who read my blog and follow along. You're really the best!

Kim you are so awesome. :)) Your painting is beautiful! Very Van Gogh-esque. I love the bold purple against the green, you made a good decision there. And <3 right back at ya. :D
Des iris qui dansent un magnifique swing dans un environnement de verts merveilleux...
J'aime beaucoup cette toile, elle respire le bonheur et l'authenticité.
Gros bisous
Van Gogh is probably smiling! Lovely work.
Love this painting, and I agree van Gogh feels happy. You've done it for him.
