Wonderful tip of the hat to one of my heroes too, Kim. Isn't that quote from the interview he did, last year, with Terry Gross, on NPR? I remember how moved I was when I heard him say make those comments words about "mortality," and the sadness of losing old friends, etc. Sendak seems to have been someone who really lived "in the moment." Once again your tenacity is bearing fruit with your latest painting. It's talking to you, and you're listening.
