Old Rose 2 + an announcement! - SOLD

Here's another one of those big, old-fashioned roses. By the way, this makes a really nice companion piece to Friday's painting...just saying! My studio smells so good!
And speaking of good things... I am thrilled to announce that I am part of a new daily painters website, Daily Painter Originals. This is a project by artist (and computer genius ;) Carolyn Finnell, and is a site showcasing the work of (currently) 21 daily painters (there is room for 30 so if you are a committed daily painter, contact Carolyn). Anyway, the site is a great place for art lovers to spend some time. Every day, painter's new pieces will be uploaded for viewing. You can click on the thumbnail to view it larger and when you click on the artist's name you will be brought to their bio and further contact information, such as their personal blog, website, etc... A lot of these artists names you may recognize, some may be new to you, but they are all excellent! I want to thank Carolyn for all her hard work for what I'm sure was an exhausting week. Well done Carolyn - you've created something really great - now go to bed and take a break!
I've also added a "Buy Now" button to make transactions easier. I'm really excited about this addition!
So.....Happy Monday!

This rose is really stunning, Kim! I love the loose unfussy brushwork in the petals!

Great flower work Kim! Beautiful and loose. Thanks for the tip on the Daily Painters, I sent my request in, I hope i hear back. I know there are probably a lot looking for a spot. I could use something like this, I am in a dead end lately! Oh , woe!

Tiene un realismo impresionante, es como si la estuvieras bien y pudieras tocarla y olerla. Es sencillamente preciosa. Un cuadro realmente precioso. Enhorabuena.

So, so, SO beautiful. I love those pink bursts in the center, and the way it's facing us a little.

And Congratulations Kim!!! That's so exciting!!! :):):):)

I am sure by now you could paint a rose with your eyes shut! You make them look so simple to paint.

I am so excited for you Kim! Sounds like a great group. And this painting is lovely! The soft colours of the unfolding petals are dreamy and then the hit of brighter colour in the centre really draws the eye.
