Canal

I painted this last week in the evening. Directly behind me there was traffic and it was kind of noisy, a fellow painter had been involved in a collision a few minutes before I arrived (everyone was okay thank goodness) and it was hot and humid. I was feeling unsettled but finally I settled in and focused on the calm beauty in front of me. And this was the result. Isn't summer grand?

Wonderful! I wish mosaics could take a week to make, too.
Your work is lovely, the colours are out of this world.

This is really beautiful Kim! I know what you mean settling into the scene and the calmness that comes with it. It has really translated into your painting.

I love this one Kim. It is calm on first glance, but there is a little unrest in the brushwork. I think it is grand!

Bold and beautiful Kim. Captured so much distance in such a horizontal piece.
