There is a lot of sentiment behind this little duck. A client asked if I would paint this porcelain duck that had belonged to her Grandmother. She loved it as a child and in time it was passed down to her. It's used as a doorstop and it has had a lot of love over the years. She now has her own granddaughter who has developed a special place in her heart for this little guy. It has seen better days, and M. thought it would be really nice to have a painting of it to preserve its memory. I had so much fun painting it, I did two : ) I'll post the second tomorrow. 6" x 6" / oil on panel

This is great! I have some little duck around my house too, they remind me of home. Good job painting it head on...a difficult thing to do!
My grandma had a ceramic cat that got used as a door stop. Same sort of emotional attachment to it... she's here somewhere, I should hunt her out. Er... the cat, I mean, not Grandma. ;)

My father has a similar duck that my sister and I bought for him...so this painting even stirs sentiments in my own heart. It's beautifully executed, Kim...very well done.
