"Fiddle scroll" - SOLD - by Canadian daily painter Kim Rempel

One of the beautiful parts of this instrument. This fiddle belongs to one of my children, who has just completed his first year of lessons and will be saying goodbye to his teacher (who is moving) tomorrow. She has been a wonderful teacher: she thought outside the box, fed his curiosity, kept him engaged and of course, taught him the skills.
6" x 6" / oil on masonite / $75

Hi again Kim!... "Artfully painted"... Linda's comment says it all... and that is my view of each of your paintings! There is always present a dynamicism and confidence in your brushwork and jaunty... colourful designs.

This one is my personal favourite for yet another reason! This one adds soulfulness and a personal resonance that takes your work to another level!

Were it not already sold Kim... I would wish to own it! Well done!
A fine tribute that links "You" and your child... to a "significant other"! Wonderful!

Good Painting!... and Happy Summer!
Warmest regards,
Bruce

This is very beautiful Kim. Rich darks and highlights placed with expert precision.
The shadow reminds me of a wrench, which is a tool, just like the violin is a tool...

Beautiful work, Kim! The values in this are stellar! Love that shiny red and the diagonal composition.

Hope your child keeps up with the lessons! I play by ear (mandolin, guitar & piano) and would love to be able to read and play Classical...then take that knowledge wherever (Rock, Bluegrass, etc). Those complex chords are so useful in other applications.
