Today I painted from a photo I took when we went to Scotland a few years ago. I have wanted to do more plein air daily paintings but the weather has been cold and/or rainy. Hence the photo. I find painting landscape in oils a huge challenge. My comfort with plein air painting is with acrylics, which I will be getting back to next week when things (hopefully) warm up and dry out ; ).

Wonderful!! There's a beautiful feeling to this painting!
This is nice Kim, I like how the water came out. I know what you mean about the weather, the same here. It's annoying to see all these other parts of the country warm, I want it now, darn it!!! If you get some, send it this way, please!
Well the challenge looks to have paid off for you this is a great painting. Nice lighting and I like how you handled the water.
The weather man says it suppose to turn around by the weekend here so next week my work out for you, I have been tinkering with going outside and leaving the confines of my studio, but it seems so scary. ;)
Nice painting. I like it!
whoa! this is one of my new favorites of yours now....It has a quality to it, not unlike the famous Canadian painters. Like the Group of Seven. Bold and beauuutiful
