These are pics from day three of the plein air workshop I took with Laurie Wonfor Nolan. Fields often intimidate me but I learned a lot from our last session - and watching Laurie do a kick-ass painting of a field was very interesting, informative and inspiring. And I like what I came away with! Now I have to get out there and paint more fields before I get locked back into my old patterns ; )

This is gorgeous Kim! I've loved following along on your workshop posts. And especially I've loved seeing you joy in trying new things. You have this optimism,try anything and stay happy quality that I just love. :)
I have to say - both you and John Singer-Sargent have given me an idea today! I recently attempted to paint my recent spanish landscape in watercolour. It all went well until I came the the field of wheat, where I failed miserably. I was going to throw it away, but then I read something that John Singer-Sargent said, which was to paint in oils like you would with watercolour and paint with watercolour like you would with oils. Hmmm - then I saw your painting and thought 'YES!!!' I will paint the field straight from the tube like oils! I wonder if it might save the painting???
