Muskoka woods

This weekend I was in Muskoka and it was spectacular! The colours were out in full force and everywhere you turned was a riot of colour and contrasts. It was hard to settle on what to paint because the views were overwhelming. Big thanks to my girlfriend who tirelessly drove me around to check out various painting spots - one more beautiful than the next - because she wanted me to find my perfect spot and not settle ; ) So I came upon this tree - and that was it. I'd found what we'd traipsed all over looking for. I was thinking I was only half done but when my family saw it they said I should stop. So I'll think it over.

Beautiful tree, Kim! The background is luscious! I love all the colors (especially the blues) used on the tree.

outstanding kim! what a kind friend you have. beautifully done! i'd say im inclined to agree with the family but i know how that feels. follow your instincts, i'm sure whatever you decide will be perfect for the painting.

Oh Kim, it is beautiful right now. Be careful, I've painted enough trees to know how easily you can lose the sparkle and magic of it if you go too far. I know exactly what you are feeling as you look at your painting the way it is. Oh boy, enjoy it. Really great!!

I agree that it is perfect just as it is! The colours are beautiful! It's fresh, unlaboured and unfussy. Be careful not to lose that! :0)

This is nice. Do another and take it further, you won't have to worry about loosing this one and you will still have it... do another and take it further!

I agree with your family, but every time you keep going I'm entranced with what you do.

Kim, before I read your words I instantly thought "I hope this is finished". It is wonderful. I like JanettMarie's advice. Do another of this tree, but keep this one as it is.

It looks big... how big is it?

And your friend is a dream, how thoughtful of her to want you to look for the ideal spot and not settle.
