Well,
thanks everyone for your comments, insight and humour regarding my bus painting. There were a few people who suggested I could probably fix it without repainting the entire piece (optimists!) but I decided the practice would serve me well. So I whipped out a new panel (with the other painting out of sight) and began again. I made a few different decisions but I think on the whole it's a stronger painting. Do you? It's not a 100% bang on but it's closer.

Art need not be "bang on" to be appealing... but good forethought... planning and draughtsmanship are hard to beat!

Love it= Honk, honk! Superb job of going back and fixing what you felt needed fixing. I am a fan of the other one too= such charm, but would have done the same thing you did. Both are wonderful!!

I think it's too shiny, too new, too inviting. It makes me wanna ride on that bus and that can't be a good thing can it? 'Cuz I'm like waaaaay past riding on little orange school buses!

No doubt your second go-round has captured the "busyness" of that particular bus.
But now that I see them together, each has its own unique charm. The first one looks to me a bit like a bulldog; a "bully" of a bus,waiting to pounce.
Of course I'm older than you, Kim, so perhaps I've seen too many buses in my life.
It is stronger and I love the way this one has such a solid immoveable look to it. I especially like being able to follow the road back to the horizon. Great job!

I like both! But the colours seem a little warmer on this one and I love warmth!
I like both buses Kim, and my husband does too. He says the first one looks like it has a story to tell, and the second one looks right. So there you go. I think you got it right both times.

Oh, dear. This one is perfect, but I like the imperfections of the first one. Both paintings are great. It's hard to choose!
Looks great Kim! I love the richness of the colors and the many details you put into it. I am in love with the front window and how the windows inside the bus are painted. Very nice!
