holy transitions!

Wow - this piece had me tearing my hair out. It went down more paths then I thought possible. So much for my paintings just "flowing out of me". Ha!
Below is where it went between yesterday's post and the finished piece above. It had become much too pale. And I knew I must flip and re-work when I saw a giant bird taking flight. Someone had mentioned it brought to mind a park - and I had felt that as well - so I kept that in the front of my mind and carried on. There are a couple of places I need to add a few more strokes of colour, but for the most part it is done.

It just boggles my mind how you are doing these. I wouldn't even know where to start! I really like this one Kim. :) What are you thinking while you're painting these, or are you just so tuned in to painting that you're not really thinking at all? Like intuitively painting I guess.

Love it! Looks like it was fun to make, one can never tell what went on behind the scenes...

Bravo! With that post title I was waiting to see Robin with his familiar speech bubble overhead ;).
Stay inspired!

J'aime ces lignes qui encadrent les couleurs comme pour mieux concentrer notre regard...

I love the direction you are going.....right up my alley for sure.....you are great at all you touch. I was "catching" up on my blog reading and had to laugh when I saw your husbands comment. My hubby also doesn't understand my abstracts.....some he likes but doesn't "get" what abstracts are as a whole and explaining seems to be lost on him....either you are an abstract "groupie" or not. You are so talented that you can slide back and forth between realism and abstract and what a gift.......

Wow! I hadn't noticed the bird, but I do now! I posted a watercolour sketch once of some french doors with reflections in the glass - and somebody mentioned that they could see Father Christmas in the reflections. Sure enough, when I looked, there he was, large as life, lol! Your painting is just gorgeous! :0)

I don't know anything about abstract art but these look fantastic! I love them!

haven't checked your blog for some time. what a nice surprise. your painterly skills well used in the new work in abstracts. hard to pull off a good abstract. my husband also likes my narrative work over most of the abstracts - but he reflects on them all as used as he is to having them around. jennifer
