Yesterday I wrote on my Facebook page "What do you do when you're feeling frustrated and like you've forgotten how to paint?!" I got a lot of wonderful responses. Today I tried to implement them. Sugar? Check. Chocolate was my particular poison. Change of scenery? Check. Outside. Rolling hills. Handle things in a different way? Check. Tried working with a stick, sitting in the field. Music? Check. I synched my iPod with music I love (I usually listen to CBC all day) I needed to clear my head. Another suggestion was to take a day off. That will be tomorrow as I need to get some housework done anyway. Great suggestions all!
So I did two paintings today. This one is 12x12. I will post the other one I did tomorrow. I just let go and tried to forget about everything technical.

I'm so glad you're working through your block Kim. I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY hate it when that happens. Your advice sounds perfect. :) And your new work looks Kim-tastic (har dee har har) and so inspired. I really love it. The colors really work together.
How comforting to know that a fabulous artist like you gets blocked now and then. You seem so incredibly
and awesomely productive, and I love your work. This is wonderful.

Un kaléidoscope de couleurs intéressantes...
Gros bisous et doucement sur les tâches ménagères!
Actually, I saw that question from a few Artists yesterday on FB. It must be catching! Anyway - I liked this painting instantly, the minute I opened it up! beautiful!
Yep, sometimes its really difficult to be a painter, turning everything upside down sometimes helps to shift that nonsense. You can do it! k

So I'm not the only one dealing with resistance!
Fabulous!! Everything works on this painting and everything worked to break the block!
