Pretty Things - SOLD

Just a few moments ago on Facebook I read this quote from Anne of Green Gables: "One can dream so much better in a room where there are pretty things."
Touché!
And of course those pretty things vary from folk to folk. Some of my pretty things? Flowers, a ribbon, a coloured glass ball, some assorted bits of pottery and dishes, art - and they are tied to cherished memories. What are your pretty things?
6"x6" / oil on hardboard / SOLD

Oh I LOVE that quote!! And it goes so well with your painting which is a very pretty thing in my opinion. :) Can you believe I've never read that book? Yet here it sits on my shelf. Dust gathering. We should form an online book club. :D

This is gorgeous. I do love flowers, antique china -- white, or blue and white, pretty quilts, fruit in pretty antique clear glass bowls, and don't get me started on going outside. It's all pretty right now.

XO Barbara

...a rock, shells, and the whole vignette when you enter the garden, the windy path, the view of the bird bath and then rounding the corner and taking in the "whole" of the garden vignette. The "plucking "" of the first flower that you so expertly captured in your painting....did you creep into our backyard and forever capture it ? Great little vignette that someone will enjoy FOREVER.....a great painting is forever. A simple, everyday reminder of what we consider beauty...
