This is a re-post as I am still not painting today. My patient is on the mend but it's a wicked virus! Monday everything should be back to normal and I plan to be back in the studio painting and posting. Maybe I'll get out to do some plein air. Our forsythia bushes are in full bloom and are just a shock of yellow. Fantastically cheery. For now, I'm posting another piece from December. Keep healthy everyone!
So we sliced it open last night and had it for dessert. What a shock to see how gorgeous it was on the inside. The rind creates a substantial fuschia ring, and the fruit is white speckled with tiny black seeds. It tasted like a cross between a kiwi and honeydew melon, but very soft and mild. But one of the more striking combinations I've ever seen. Very cool.
I really like painting bowls and plates from a birds-eye view. Love the circles. I had a lot fun with the shapes and colour on this one.
