Hiatus

Due to my grandmothers declining health, I will be taking a brief hiatus from my daily painting. I found this quote that reminds me of my grandma. She's a beautiful, wonderful woman.
I loved their home. Everything smelled older, worn but safe; the food aroma had baked itself into the furniture.  ~Susan Strasberg

Oh Kim, I'm so sorry about your grandmother. I'll be here ready and waiting to see more of your beautiful work, and to talk to you my sweet friend, when you are ready to come back. :) But in the meantime, my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. *HUGS*

Th quote also reminds me of my grandma. And, even though she passed away in '71, I still remember the food (aromas): spare ribs, pearled onions w/ peas, red jello, chocolate covered caramels. My thoughts are w/ you and your family. New paintings will always be there later.

I'm sure it is time you will never regret. I help caretake my mother and know I will look back and be thankful for the extra time I've had with her. Keep a sketchbook with you and write down all your ideas for future paintings and journal a bit about your time with your grandmother?

Kim,

This is a difficult time and my thoughts are with you. I miss my grandmothers terribly; one of them for twenty years now, and the other for eight. I was able to say goodbye to both of them, and that helped. I'm glad you have that chance, too.

Thank goodness for memories, old photos and loving family to reminisce with. May she go peacefully...

XO Nicki
