Wood duck

I haven't painted many animals. I don't know why. My friend sent me a photo of a wood duck and it was insanely colourful. A vision of beauty. So I decided to give it a try. What about you? What subjects do you realize you have shied away from?

Je trouve que nos amis à plumes sont tellement artistiquement beau et votre peinture en est un bel hommage Kim.

This is so cheerful! I love the bright colours! in
Hmm... I was recently asked to do a portrait of a cow! I really didn't expect to be able to do it (I am terrified of cows)!
I used coloured pencils and although I would say it was somewhere between a sketch and a drawing, I actually really surprised myself! I will post it in a couple of weeks :0)

My birder friend says it's a wood duck. The white and black markings on the head are different. And I think the eye colour. But I searched the Mandarin duck and it is equally stunning! I feel another painting coming on : )
