Bee on floor - SOLD

Should I tell the truth? This was actually a dead bee I found on my studio floor. But if that bothers you, just pretend this little bee was having a nap ; ) I saw it there the other day and decided to save it. Then I thought what the heck, I'd paint it. It was nice and still after all!
6" x 6" / oil on archival panel / $100 (includes free shipping worldwide)

I love this! It has the look and feel of a juicy abstract. Love how you saw beauty in something that most people would have discarded right away.

I don't care if the bee is dead or alive, I love the painting.

The painting is great Kim,
it has such strength. And you didn't have to say so, no live bee ever looked this way. So Hey, you gave the bee a new life as a work of art -- an honourable feat.

feeling bad for your bee....but you did immortalize him, so that is a good thing. Nicely done!

As funny as the idea was, you really achieved a gorgeous effect here. I could actually imagine this as a huge painting on a wall in someone's elegant contemporary home. The values, tones and shapes are so striking.
