The extra mile - SOLD
I've never painted a stuffed animal on this blog - it was something sub-consciously ingrained in me along my growth as an artist: Stay away from the sentimental due to a high risk of the schmaltz factor!! but I've got to tell you that I made an exception today because of a Facebook post. It seems someone lost this stuffed toy in the vineyard at the market over the weekend and they are trying to reunite it with its owner ; ) The good folks over at The Good Earth put out a "found" poster to aid in their quest (if you're on FB you can check it out). I was just kind of touched by this unexpected effort on their part. It was a nice thing to read over my bowl of Mini-Wheats and made me smile.

I love painting sentimental subjects because I always feel that I paint better when I have a personal connection. We are all so different! :0)

A little "schmaltz" never hurt anybody...I love all the nuances of colors in the toy.
Soon to be re-united with my 3 year old son Jacob. White Doggy is a much loved friend in our house and has been on many adventures. This one takes the cake though! Such a lovely painting. Thank you for capturing the loneliness of white doggy in such a beautiful painting! This is definitely a moment to remember!
