Mushrooms

Blogger's back! Sorry about that everyone!
When I was shopping for the radishes for the last painting I picked up some mushrooms. After painting the white dog, I wanted to again explore the colour variations I could get in other objects that are thought of as kind of neutral. Loved playing around with these greys and browns. I don't like to actually use a brown from the tube though, except for underpainting - I prefer to mix them. I think you get more variety and sparkle.

I love these structural mushrooms! It's amazing how much color there is in the neutrals. The whole composition is so nice...The rust-colored band across the back, the large white plane, and the the placement of the mushrooms and shadows. Great job.

This is superb ! I love the tones of colors you used. Great composition, and on such a small canvas, it fascinates me. Bravo!

I so love mushrooms I collect them wild and they always bring pleasure and here you manage to do the same by painting them.
