Here's another piece I've been working on. At this point I've just stepped back and am spending some time looking at it...letting it soak in. There are always a few points in the process where I really don't know how far to push it. I've had a few of those moments with this painting, but then while contemplating have put my brush on the canvas and
made a mark before I realized what I was doing. That's one wat to commit myself to go further ; )
At one point I called my husband over to get his opinion and (bless him) he just kindly said "I really can't comment as I just don't understand abstracts". Now there's a man who knows his wife ; )

J'aime la composition qui fait que mon regard se sent bien dans son ensemble... Les couleurs communient bien les unes avec les autres.
Gros bisous
Kim have enjoyed your abstract series - I [personally am appreciating them much more then when younger.
Love your palette on this piece too.
Ok Kim, I will live dangerously with the following: As an artist and former husband, and one who loves abstract art, I see overtones of a deKooning female figure in this image. I'll leave it up to you to see what I see.
I also see some incredibly sensitive and elegant paintings coming out of this series. I'm envious that you can slip into this mindset. Most inspiring, as always.
It makes me think of spring and of Klimt. Lovely! I'd have to read up about Abstract theory before I could comment further. If I were painting this I would find it hard to decide which bit should be the star and which bits should be the supporting cast. Bon chance, mon ami!
I'm enjoying this one... it is quite different from the others. Way to go- you are really pushing yourself.
I am emailing you soon...
THis is very cool Kim. :) Looking forward to seeing where it's headed. And I nearly died of laughing from what you said about your husband. Smart man. SMART man. :)
Gorgeous artwork !
I love the pastel tones you used.
Kim - I have no idea why, but somehow you disappeared from my blog list and it was only earlier today over a bag of liquorish allsorts, that I pondered on why you haven't posted for so long. When I looked for your link on my list you weren't there, which is why I haven't noticed tour recent posts! I am so sorry - you are back on now, so I wont miss any more!. Your latest work is fantastic! :0)
