Candy
This is a second painting of my shiny, colourful candy. I looked for some quotes online about candy and this one made me laugh. I don't know this book, but perhaps I'll have to check it out.
“Of course." He picked up the brown bag of candy on the table. "What's your..." He trailed off as he weighed the bag in his hands. "Didn't I give you three pounds of candy?"
She smiled impishly.
"You ate half the bag!"
"Was I supposed to save it?"
She smiled impishly.
"You ate half the bag!"
"Was I supposed to save it?"
"I would have liked some!"
"You never told me that."
"Because I didn't expect you to consume all of it before breakfast!"
She snatched the bag from him and put it on the table. "Well, that just shows poor judgement on your part, doesn't it?”

Lemon Tart
I thought the three pastries from yesterday were so lovely they each needed their own painting. So this is a lemon tart topped with meringue and a thin slice of dehydrated pineapple, capped with a plump blueberry. The pineapple cut and dried this way resembles a beautiful flower. I love it and it tasted delicious!

Alstroemeria - SOLD

A stem of alstroemeria in a shot glass. These were richly-coloured and fun to paint. I took a picture at the blocking in stage just to show process. I enjoy seeing the path of other people's work so thought I might start showing some stages in mine. Happy Tuesday.

Dragon fruit on saucer - SOLD
What a fantastic looking fruit! Very tropical and exotic looking to a Canadian in March : ) Lush and fun to paint. My first attempt was yesterday and it had to be wiped down. Today I settled down and approached it more calmly and got the result I was hoping for. Tonight we're going to eat it : ) I've never tried this fruit before - I'll report back tomorrow.6" x 6" / oil on panel / $75
