Shelter - SOLD

As in the strawberry. The cracked rim of the coconut, with the little berry nestled inside, is my favourite part of this painting. After people's comments yesterday I can't wait to try baking with fresh coconut. I think macaroons are in order : )

Love it! You are so clever to come up with a totally different fruit to use. And it looks so good next to the white background

Really nice Kim. I love the title. Love both strawberries. The one outside the coconut almost has a 3-D quality to it. Very cool!

The textures on the coconut are fabulous, Kim! I can almost smell and taste it.

I can almost taste the "tart" taste of the white end of that one strawberry! Love the title too!

Hi Kim
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for you comments. I think we both must spend a "little" time at Timmys;) I had a look through your work and really enjoyed the loose brush strokes and vibrant colors. I agree with you: practice, practice, practice. Fun and frustration all at the same time!

This painting makes my mouth water, I see it and I think of Costa Rica, and pina coladas! But I must say that is a mighty-fine looking coconut. I especially love the edges.

Love your coconuts! I don't think I've ever seen one in a Still Life and I'm wondering "why not?" because it is very pretty. I can really see the depth of the bowl in this one and putting the strawberry in the other one was such a witty decision!

I like that the little strawberry hiding inside the coconut seems to have character. It looks like a game of hide and seek.
