Caesar - SOLD

Artist/Blogger Kelley MacDonald posted an invitation a while back to paint your favourite drink, and she would post them as an online birthday cocktail party for herself. Fun! So I painted a Caesar. Definitely one of my favourite drinks. I didn't have a proper glass for the Caesar so I used a Mason jar. I think I've had them served like that before - although in the smaller size jars - okay - one this size is to drink with friends ; ) For those of you unfamiliar with Caesars, it is a mixture of Clamato juice, vodka, worcestershire sauce, and tabasco. Spicy. It's served on ice (didn't have any at the studio) and must have a crunchy celery stick and usually has a lime. Yum.

This is great Kim. Love all the rectanglar shapes and the idea of a good cocktail appeals to me too.

Cheers!

Very nicely done, Kim. I agree with Carol. I love all the angular brush strokes. The composition is simple, but endlessly interesting with lots to look at and admire--edges, beautiful color and great lights and darks!

Great job Kim. The composition rocks and I can not pick my favourite little bit - because it is one solid painting. Love it all!

I'll leave it to your professional colleagues to comment on the texture of the painting, my particular competence is in the taste texture, flavour and overall appeal of the presentation of a cocktail.

As I figuratively took the first and subsequent sips of the Caesar, I noted that you scored very high on texture and overall appeal. And excellent on flavour. Moisten the rim then lightly dip and twist it in a salt and pepper mixture and you have a perfect "10". (I understand that it's very difficult to represent this aspect in a painting)

Ten on taste and appeal, You'd better take the Smart Serve certification in Ontario before the province finds out that you're making perfect Cocktails!

I look forward and eagerly await my favourite, The Manhattan.

Way creative Kim, nice composition! Never heard of the drink, but my husband would love this. I am amazed, every time I open my blog, you have a new painting, cut it out!!!!!
