Peonies and phlox

Last night I was painting at Rachel's, the woman who owns the property that has the cedar grove (from which I've painted a number of cedars). I thought instead of going back to my favourite subject I would try something new. So this is it! She's got a great property - there was SO much to chose from.

Simply gorgeous! I love those small purple flowers. And the composition is just gorgeous. I'm very curious as to (I know we hate to get these questions. Ahem. . . but I'm asking you anyway) how long a typical painting takes for you. You seem to be able to make one masterpiece after the other :)

I love this one. Love, love, love it.

Another great one Kim. It seems to me that your painting style has turned 180 in the past few weeks. You have gone from very simple uncluttered compositions, to very complex ones. I am very impressed!

I have a lot of favourites among your stuff, Kim - but this ranks right up there with the one I bought. Composition is exceptional.
