"Chinese vase with lilacs" by Canadian artist Kim Rempel - SOLD

I'm doing a lilac series : ) This one is with a palette knife as well. The next couple will be painted with a brush. Thanks so much for your nice comments from yesterday!

I'm loving this! Such a good use of values. Love the deep purple in the shadows and the pale lavenders in the light.

I have yet to try knofe painting but I definitely intend to at some point. It's a really interesting effect!

Kim, I really like the thick paint on the vase and will be interested to see your brush painting. If you do the same composition then we can compare!
I love lilacs and have 4 bushes in my yard. These are bred to bloom in So. Ca, as most lilacs will not. Even they are rather lack luster - only a few blooms.
