into our mouths! Friday we made homemade donuts. My nephew, sister and I had always wanted to try it and we decided on two kinds: yeast (raised) and crullers. Pictured above are the yeast. We iced them with a vanilla glaze, maple glaze, and chocolate icing. *YUM* The crullers were equally delicious : ) Kelley and Susan, I was wishing you were here to taste test! : ) 6" x 6" / oil on panel / $75
Oh, Kim... Oh, oh, oh Kim... trying to figure how long it would take if I got in the car in Rhode Island right NOW to reach you - save me one of those maple frosteds, OK? YUM! And great job on the painting!
Okey.... another contender on the Donut War! Excellent Kim and you achieved such yummy, gooey, chocolate frosting! Kelley watch out - Kim may rein supreme with the donuts yet. ps My Mom made homemade donuts a lot when i was young - such sweet smells and memories:)
Oh no...I'm not entering the donut war...I'd have to buy a new wardrobe come summer...lol I *DIDN'T* have will power! My sister walked over to the pan where the crullers were cooling and said: THAT'S all the recipe made? LOL My nephew and I (more me I think) were happily eating them right out of the frying pan!

They loo delicious...interesting the way that the cruellers were piped!
What a veritable "broadside" in the Donut Wars. A new combatant from Canada. The War of 1812 re-visited, and a taste test thrown in!
Those two look better than anything from Timmy's. Congrat's on some brilliant images.
yum yum! you painted them deliciously!
Major YUM!! I think having Susan and Kelley there could have lead to all kinds of trouble!!
I can't believe your will power! If I painted those donuts there would be a bite out of at least one and crumbs to paint!
So fun! Thanks for sharing this kitchen adventure with us.
Okay - STOP, STOP, STOP!!!! I have put on 4lbs since following your blog!
Please can you paint some celery (and make it look as appetizing as this)?
They do indeed look great and took me back years when my grandmother used to make them with me.
