This week I'm hosting the Daily Paintworks Challenge. The challenge? Painting a piece of crunched-up paper! It's a great way to study relative values and shapes. And very easy to find props : ) This one kind of reminds me of a flower.
6"x6" / oil on archival panel / $100 (includes free shipping worldwide)

Just want you to know that of all the many paintings of crumbled up paper I wished I'd painted, this is the most beautiful.
I think I'll make this the next assignment for my students.
Seriously, this is elegant.
I LOVE this Kim! Such a cool idea. :) And I think I'm going tohave to do this one, but with pink paper. :D
Hi Kim,
I remember this was one of the tests for entrance into OCAD. We had to do it with pencil. I love yours. It's very beautiful.
When you say archival panel. Is it wood, or canvas over carboard? Just wondering because I might like to try some.

Cool challenge! Cool piece!
Bill - Thanks!
Crystal - I would love to see a pink crunched paper painting : )
Barbara - I paint on RayMar Canvas panels (linen and cotton) based in Arizona. They're excellent but haven't been able to find a similar product in Canada.
Thank you Sunny ; )
