Blue Christmas

The little unremembered acts of kindness and love
are the best parts of a person's life. ~William Wordsworth
There is much pressure to be "up" throughout the holiday season. But some years circumstances dictate longing, sadness, melancholy or even grief. I say: Feel what you feel. And no apologies. If it's a blue Christmas, it's a blue Christmas. Go gently.

Thanks Kim, at so many levels. But now you have to find one that describes "hope". You'll find it in one of my Christmas cabinets. You'll recognize it when you go looking. It might be the old Shaker basket with the collection of ornaments including the old glass song bird.

Interesting abstract composition. I like the color choices and the handling of the luminous ornament.

Dad - I will go looking. I think there are a number that I would like to paint. Thanks!

So graphic, really very beautiful. I love the look of the round blue ornament against the very planar black-and-white background.

I agree with you on that subject. I don't suppose you need any baubles to hang on your tree - You could just hang all of these little paintings from it instead, I'm going to sound really 'arty' now - but, I like the contrasting square corners behing the perfectly round ball :0)
