Often when I do a still life set-up I quite like the "larger" view. That is, when I pull back from the view-finder and take in the surroundings - it offers some interesting shapes! So the black is my shadow box, the white in front of that is some white cardboard I use to lighten things up, and you may recognize the box my espresso cup is on from my painting of Little butter tart last week. To all of you who could use an espresso this morning, this one's for you!

Hi dear Kim,
I loved it!
the composition, color, mood... great work!
as always, you did a personal touch with your style!
a big big hug ;)
Gros bisous
I just love the whole thing, especially the palette.
You're 100% right - I love this larger view too!
I love this composition! Very abstract and it moves the eye all around the canvas. Very interesting! Great color palette as well!
Hi Kim. As someone who also paints still-life, I'm really intrigued by your 'large view' concept. I've always looked for a painting within the broader scene. Never thought about it this way before. Composition looks fantastic.
You grabbed me with the color and then the great composition. Great piece, Kim.
I love this Kim, the reflections on the cup are so perfectly placed. It reminds me of your IWC piece. I really love the larger view, it took me a while to realize that that was what was attracting me so much to this painting. It is different from what you usually see with still lifes.
Good composition, breaks the space -
Love the color of the cup and the composition is interesting and adds a lot to it.
Really cool composition!!
Love the colors in this painting, Kim, and the painting just in general. There is something about it...can't wait to see some more!
