I tried yesterday's set-up again with oil. Not really working for me ; ) Parts I like but..whatever. Then I did a set-up in the bathroom. The greens in the mouthwash looked really interesting. I couldn't quite mix the green I was after but it was a fun quick study.
6" x 6" / oil on archival panel / $75

I think you are doing great! There's so much to like in both these paintings. I like the books, the table and the shadows. The shape of the mouthwash bottle is good and the pink soap is great!
Ok, you know what I love about your paintings? Well one of the things, I may have said this before, but I love how you make common, ordinary objects beautiful and interesting. That is the mark of a master artist. I am your miyagi. Teach away :)
These are great Kim, I particularly like the Scope bottle!
I particularly enjoy the Scope bottle painting because of the gestural brush strokes. I also like the use of color.
The painting below is nice also. I like the energy and gestural quality in the colorful glass sitting next to the books.
I love the way you seem to see things that I never ever see. I would like to live behind your eyes for a day.
This simplified version of the books still life painting, appeals to me more than the previous one. The impact of orange and green, plus the bold block colour sits beautifully.
Ok, so what I meant to say was that YOU are MY myagi, teaching and inspiring me. D-oh! Another blonde moment. :)
I do like Scope and Soap, especially the brushwork, Kim.
Hey, here's a show idea. Paintings with subjects that rhyme. There. No charge!
Scope and Soap is amazing! just love the color showing through the background. and SO painterly.
his painting has a very poetic soul, and a very strong brand. Congratulations! Lindissimo!
